Instead of using toothpaste, I have found that it's more effective to brush my teeth with anti-plaque mouthwash.
When I was in the Army, we were taught that toothpaste is unnecessary, and that you only need to brush your teeth once every twenty-four hours.
Also, the Army taught us to brush our tongues, in order to prevent bad breath.
I find dental floss too inconvenient to bother with, so I use toothpicks.
I also liked chewing Arm & Hammer gum, but our PX quit selling it.

As a child I was taught the following rhyme to remember how to brush: Up like the sky, down like the rain, back and forth like a choo-choo train. That has long been dismissed by the dental association. Now I just go to it and try not to brush too hard. Get a good tooth brush and go at it. Others will tell you there is a right way or a wrong way, but that will change with time. Talk to someone with great teeth. They hold the secret.

Firstly: Use that brush not more than 3 months, Use boiled water, Use any paste but herbal is recommended most. Brush up and down gently then across carefully so as not damage the gum, brush the tongue too moving the brush forward and backword gently. Take about 2-4 minutes brushing there you will be assured that they are thoroughly clean. Brush every after a meal, if you are working then that is not very possible but at least twice a day

Do not brush back and forth. Make small circles and always brush your gums and tounge. I just found this out from a new dentist. Also, get the smallest toothbrush that you can find and make sure it is a soft bristled brush, because that gets in between your teeth better than a hard one.

Brush in a circular pattern with the bristles angled at a 45 degree angle towards the teeth and gumline. This way, you are brushing the teeth and massaging the gums....in technical dental jargon it's referred to as the bass technique of brushing.
