I visited Greece way back in 1972. I loved the people, the language, the food, the music, the landscape, the architecture--just everything. I was just a young teenage girl then, and I was bowled over by how attentive the young men were to me, giving me flowers in the street. Nothing like that ever happened to me in the USA! I wish I could go back, but two kids to get through college...sigh.

I thought their productions in this years Eurovision and the Olympics in '04 was just so amazing...just so creative and unique. Greeks bring intelligence to entertainment.

I also think of the ancient Greeks of having established an allegorical culture. Everything had place and purpose. Classical art has such simplicity and beauty and revelation and it inspired one of the most beautiful ages of art in Medieval times.

When I think of Greeks today, I think of family, and the enjoying simple life, and fishermen, and the most beautiful blue Ocean I have ever seen.

Greece is in some ways the cradle of civilization; it's a wonderful country, full of history and nice sites too see; Greeks are warm people, like all the Mediterraneans;)...I've been to Greece several times and I liked it very much; I'm Turkish so we have lots in common with Greeks, Turkish and Greek cuisine for instance, are alike (what Greeks call tzaziki we call çacık, what they call gyros pita we call döner kebap, what they call souvlaki we call şiş kebap..) so, nice country with nice people indeed!

Greeks are wonderful people, take in the movie "my big fat greek wedding"...my wife went to a greek wedding and the family was just like the movie...we (my wife and i) did a mural in the home of a Greek restrant owner, and his mother-in-law was just like the mama in the movie. we were invited to his daughter's wedding, but only my wife could go, i had to stay and work. she came back and said it was great, everyone ate well, and they smashed wine glasses and dinner plates and danced and partied till dawn.
they'd eat a course, and smash the plates, they'd make toast and drink to it and smash the glasses. then they'd all dance for a while, then they'd do it all over again. she had a ball.
