if i travel zone 1-2 in the tube and zone 3 on the bus? i thought the bus had only one zone?

The buses don't have zones anymore, so as long as you have an in date travelcard you can use it on an LT bus service

If you buy a Zone 1-2 travelcard on your Oyster card, you can travel on zones 1-2 only on the tube, but all zones on the bus because buses, as you quite rightly mentioned, do have only one zone. Hope this helps :)

get a "prepay" oyster card, thats what i have, i can use it from Tower hill to where i work i put a fiver on it its £1.50 per travel instead of £3.00
prepay is easy you just top up how much you want - minimum £5 and you're off :o)
