There's no reason in the world why Joe shouldn't win this fight, for anyone to think that Peter Manfredo has any type of chance against Joe is not your average boxing fan. Do you think that Sergio Mora can beat Joe? You never heard of Sergio? Sergio was on "The Contender" series with Manfredo and beat Peter on the show and a short time later. After beating Manfredo twice, Mora wouldn't be able to last 5 rounds with Joe and he's better than Peter.
This fight is Frank Warrens way of trying to show that Joe is ready to fight Americas best a assertion that Frank has been making since Joe's fight against Jeff Lacey. Jeff is the most one dimensional fighter out there today. The British media is having a feeding frenzy proclaiming that "Joe greatness will be even more evident after he defeats the great Peter Manfredo"
Who has Peter Manfredo beat to fight for a belt? Scott Pemberton? Scott Pemberton was a good second tier club fighter and that's it. Scotty weighs 160 pounds and 60 of it is brain damage. Pembertons best fights were against Omar Sheika, don't worry not many people outside of die-hard boxing fans have heard of Omar either.
Joe should stop Peter in less than 4 rounds and if he doesn't then Joe better stay in England where they will be the only ones saying that "Joe is great!" Everywhere else he'll be a joke.

Calzaghe should easily bust up Manfredo inside of 7 rounds. Manfredo is a fighter that was made notable through a reality TV series. He can't punch his way out of a wet paper bag. This match up is such a soft touch for Calzaghe I won't even watch. if I have my facts straight Calzaghe gave up his IBF title for this fight? (please correct me folks if I'm wrong). Why the hell would he do that? Is this the type of fight a "great fighter" like Joe takes to prove his "greatness"?
Mr. Calzaghe I'll be the first to say I was wrong about you If you come to States put your title up against the deeper talent here instead of taking fights in comfy old Wales against an over hyped and ordinary fighter the likes of Manfredo.
If this fight goes the distance or past 7 rounds then Joe should stay over in his home country and continue to fight his handpicked "bum of the month" fighters.

nicely, that's boxing, the theater of the unpredicted, as Larry provider provider likes to assert, so something can ensue in a combat, yet i in simple terms think of that the skills point of Taylor and Calzaghe would be to plenty for Mora and Manfredo Jr. to overcome. Calzaghe will stop Manfredo by using the 8th around and Taylor will stop Mora by using the 10th. Manfredo Jr. and Mora are good combatants, yet in those fights they are going to be out of their league and the two will lose badly for my section.

I hope Jermain Taylor gets a shot at Calzaghe later in '07 so I'm rooting for Calzaghe to beat Manfredo.

They've just postponed that fight until April.

after getting beat by alfonso gomez who is much smaller than him (manfredo) and then getting beat twice by sergio mora, i'd put all my money on calzaghe.

...after seeing calzaghe puttin' a hurtin' on lacy, i really don't see manfredo havin' a chance, unless he throws one of those lucky hasim rahman vs. lennox lewis punches.

**calzaghe vs. taylor '07**

PETER BECAME FAMOUS SHORT AFTER BEING IN THE CONTENDER SHOW, REMEMBER HE LOST TWISE AGAINST MORA. THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. JOE IS THE CHAMPION, PETER IS FAMOUS, A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES ARE WILLING TO WATCH HIM FIGHT AGAINST JOE, BUT IT DOESNT MEAN THAT BECAUSE HE HAD A KNOCK OUT WIN LAST SUMMER HIS GOING TO BEAT JOE THE SAME WAY.
MY GESS IS PETER WILL LOSE IN 4 ROUNDS!!!!!
