I don't think so. The younger generation did not watch dogs and cats live through everything as they did twenty years ago. Parvo was not as rapant and you only took your pet to the vet when it was sick. The younger generations want to keep them like children and drag them around and are much more into what breed they are seen with and want to pamper it. The parents of older generations rarely let dogs in the house. It was a different time animals lived outside.

I'm an Old Fart. And I love my dog. Of course he treats me better than my children do. He is alway watching over me, never asks for anything, and listons to what a old man has to say without any smart replys On the rare times my children stop by...my dog trys to greet them and all they can say to him is...GET DOWN ya mutt.

i don't know about better but they might feel like they are more loyal to them and they may show more love to them but that's because a dog never turns you down where a family member could turn there back on you. I love my dog but I love my family more but I am not older either. I know that if they have to have them put to sleep and they have had them for 20 yr or a long time they may feel like a big party of their life is gone I know my grandma about lost it when she had to have her cat put to sleep.

i think people who have retired generally spend much more time with their dogs but they also tend to over feed them but see it as an act of love. For companionship i think older people are generally better but feeding wise i think the younger people.

Quite frequently, this is so in many home situations. The result is neglected and abused children.

I should hope so! All my owner's kids have f*cked off, and only come back when they're after something. Irritating little bleeders.

At least I'm loyal and never leave my owner's side!
