Prepared for what?

First, it's important to know what we're preparing for. For some things, being prepared is imperative. Sometimes, it's a detriment. (Like, preparing for a fight with someone who you think is mad at you, when really, the best thing is not preparing and waiting to see what happens before reacting.)

Questions like this are too vague to answer. Context is everything.
