Sounds like gas pain. It makes you not want to breathe, and you hope it goes away asap! It's just referred pain from your intestines; when they're slightly enlarged with gas, they cause irritation on a nerve, which is then radiated to your chest. Sometimes changing positions, from side to side, will help.

I do quite frequently, in my heart. I had a problem with not being able to see for about 20 minutes after strenuous exercise, and they refered me to a heart doctor thinking I had holes in my heart. I asked him about this pain in my heart, and he said that the heart just didn't get enough oxygen, but nothing to worry about. So now when that happens, I just calm down, take a few deep breaths even if they hurt, and it goes away.

I do. I have asthma though. My doctor put me on advair to ease that and the tightness in my chest when I breathe. It might not be the same thing you're describing, but it seems close.
