Yes, It hurt your feelings, but you should realize your dad loves you very much it sounds like but he might be having a bad day, or maybe even a headache, You must have bad days to right? or if your PMSing you know what that's like right, Well Just so you know Men PMS too. It is a proven fact. I have a 11 year old daughter that I love more than life itself, but sometimes I have a bad day and if she's anywhere around me at that time,"she gets it all" but I always remind her that I love her and I really don't mean to say those things and I explain to her why I did it. I tell her when I start yelling at her or anything to just walk to her bedroom or somewhere and to not take it to heart, and she does just that because she knows that I will come back around with apoligize and a big big hug and lots of I sorry honey's So I guess what I'm trying to say is try not taking it to heart even though it hurts sometimes because I'll guarantee you were at the wrong place at the wrong time and he didn't mean to take it out on you! Lots of experience from being your age and my dad doing the same thing to me now doing it to and realizing what parents do go through. Hope this helped your hurting heart alittle? sunnydays

Any blow to the Psyche is difficult, especially if it is from a parent. I think you have the right to be upset. You need to talk to your dad about your feelings without being defensive. He sounds like he might be a lot like you. Children live, learn, love by the way their parents set the example. This is true unless they make a conscience effort to change.

As sensitive that you maybe, your father may need some space...not only space but you have to understand he probably didn't mean it that way to hurt your feelings. Remember he's got alife to, meaning hes gotta relax like you'd wanna if you could. so maybe chill, ask him later...dad will come straight an tell you!!!!

you do have the right to be upset because it hurt your feeling but the thing is instead of shutting down try talking to him and letting him know he hurt your feelings...he's not a mind reader if u don't tell him he'll never know how that comment affected you...
