I don't want all of it coloured, just a few highlights. But, do I have to bleach it first? Cause that's what I've heard. With the risk of it, what do you think? I'm going to do it anyway, but still, what should it be better, purple or green (a shade of purple or green that's very close to my natural colour-chestnut)?? And,by the way, where can I buy hair mascara? I only saw smtg like it in carnavals, can I buy it in any drugstore?

You can find hair mascara at any Claire's or Icing (sometimes even Walmart). I wouldn't recommend green because it tends to fade faster and just look like you spent too much time in the pool. Purple is pretty easy to keep up, as is red and pink. Blue can turn greenish overtime.

You definitely want to bleach the strands first if you want it to show up. If you just want subtle purple in your hair, you don't need to bleach it (think of Anime characters).

Just keep in mind that this really damages your hair and sometimes dying your hair back to its natural color can take a few tries.

You should find a sally's near you. not only would they have the hair mascara but they have all different types of colors for your hair to choose from. When I was younger I had medium brown, actually it was pretty dark but I used manic panic and it worked really well on my hair. I did not have to bleach it at all. So you should be fine without bleaching it. Another thing with the manic panic is it is safe. it is supposed to wash out after so many times but I left mine in for a lot longer when i was coloring just to make sure it took and When it came time to washing out it stayed until I recolored my hair

purple hair? thats great- Im sure prospective employers will look at you in the same manner as they look at people with ridiculously long fingernails. But then if youre dying your hair this extreme youre probably too young for a decent job anyhow so why not. But in all seriousness, no one will honestly respect you if you show no maturity in your own life and start acting like youre a cartoon or comic book character.

heh i wanna dye my hair purple or green too.
You should bleach it first for the true color to be apparent.
As for the purple or green, it all depends on your complexion and stuff, but i think purple will go with chestnut better than green.

i did that to my hair a few years back.. i went to a salon and they bleached it.. (depending on how dark your hair is you will probably have to bleach it to get the colour to show)
i have pretty dark brown hair its practically black.. so it took a lot to bleach it to get the colour to stick

you can buy coloured hair dye at most drug stores.. or at hair places.. i imagine the stuff at the hair salons will last longer
