What if I had a serious crash and the dog was with me?

It's not illegal to take your Dog in a car, so i'd very much doubt it's illegal to have a dog in the cab of a lorry. I know a few lorry drivers who take there dogs with them, they do tend to make the cabs' smell a bit "Doggified" though.

as far as i can remember ur not allowed to have any loose objects that may cause obstruction (if u stop suddenly will it fall forward and cause u an injury and my lead to an accident) so yes get a seat belt safty harness for your dog for safty reasons..
i know this is a law because i used to do HGV and was told about having a T.V loose in the back of my cab even tho it was wedged down

Just take your dog to work with you,,I drive a class 1 and the dog is always with me,,it's good company when you work alone,,besides you hardly ever see a copper these days,,they have been replaced by a cheaper pretend plastic version called Vosa,,you have seen them,,another Labour idea

it is one of those where you are OK until something goes wrong.For example if you were involved in a accident and having a dog loose in the cab was seen as a contributing factor, then you could be held liable for any legal proceedings that may follow be it criminal or civil/

I used to know a driver of a 7.5 tonner who took his dog everywhere with him I would think you're safe

Im not sure... but I think it is actually illegal to have a loose dog in a car (or a lorry)
They must be behind a screen in the boot/back or in some sort of cage... honest!!!

mine comes with me, infact he does a bit of driving when my hours are up, not much good at reversing tho .
