I want to buy a digital camera with a good zoom.Was thinking of fuji s9600.Which camera would you recomend?

Without a doubt Fujifilm FinePix are probably the best cameras out there, they have a model for everyone. Check out www.dpreview.com for comparisons and reviews. But from someone who has always used Fujifilm, I recommend that camera most definitely! Will feel like an old baseball mitt!

I think I would prefer a high zoom camera to have optical image stabilisation, which the Fuji is lacking.
Here is an excerpt from a review I found...
"The good: 10.7X optical zoom lens; sensitivity up to ISO 1600; raw image capture.
The bad: No optical or mechanical image stabilization; noisy images above ISO 400.
The bottom line: Though high on features, Fuji's FinePix S9100 (also known as S9600) comes up short on image quality".
Unfortunately, the top review sites have yet to review the S9600, so I would wait for their feedback.

It's terrific camera, but certainly not the only one. personally, I prefer the 28-300mm range on this fuji, as I use wide angle much more than long zoom. also, I like that it's a manual zoom. There are a number of other cameras that have a range of 38-432mm. More zoom, less wide angle, such as the Canon S3 IS, Sony H2, H6 and the terrific panasonics FZ50, FZ7.
Basically- they're all good. They each just have a different feel, features and options. You can't go wrong with any of them. Have fun, pick the one you like, and know that you got the right one.
