diet and exercise is the only way to lose weight healthily - but you can kickstart your weight loss by carefully selecting what types of calories you put in your body. Avoid processed carbs like the plague and change your proteins to turkey and fish. Drink buckets and buckets of water - it'll help flush out the body and suppress appetite. When snacking or eating between meals limit it to fruit only. Make sure you get your five veg a day and have a probiotic/omega 3 yogurt drink every day. my mum swears by wu long tea(chinese weight loss tea) and she also did two months of food replacement dieting and lost three stone. lipotrim was the brand name of her food replacement and is supervised by dieticians so your health is montiored carefully. Good luck!!!

Dieting over christmas isnt a great idea, theres way too many temptations! If you do decide to start, try to follow a motivating diet, that allows you to eat & exercise sensibly over a realistic amount of time. I lost 11lb on weight watchers over 9 weeks. Just be sensible about and remember, alchol contains plenty of calories!!

I think it may be dangerous for your health to try and lost that amount of weight in such a short space of time. It isn't pleasant to feel horrible, but, do you actually look that bad - ask someone close to you for their honest opinion. In the meantime, cut out all snacks, cut down on alcoholic drinks and walk and run about a lot. In other words, use up more calories than you put in and in a couple of months time you should look and feel wonderful.
Try not to be so hard on yourself and good luck!

I'm used to metric measurements, so my concept of stones might be out, but 8st seems light for your height. Spend a bit more time in the gym and you'll probably find that toning up makes you feel a lot better about yourself.
Good luck.

Wanna lose weight then Join slimming world!!
I've lost 3stone 1 1/2lbs since January of 2006 and i was pregnant!!!! I gave birth in August and still go to group!
YOu don't have to give up foods you love! there are no points or calories to count!
Also you can eat tons and i do mean tons!!
For example a green day for me, is:
Breakfast - 2 x weektabix a bananna and milk
snack either a slimming world ceral bar or a riveta bar, or packet of snack a jacks (something along those lines) i then eat about 3 -4 satsumas, and a couple of bits of fruit or veg.
Lunch, either a huge jacket potato with baked beans and 28g cheese or some cous cous (ainsley hariot stuff).
I will then snack all afternoon on fruit or veg or rice pasta or cous cous. Tea time i will have spag bol, (made myself) with a small amount (because you count your meat on a green day) of lean mince with homemade sauce and unlitimted amounts of pasta or spag.
I will then have a couple of muller yougarts, and some more fruit. or a frozen yog. Then i will have a mini mars bar or some other choccy!
I could go on here for ages!! Basically for an orginal day which is the other choice, you eat unlimited amounts of meat, but you weigh out your carbs.
So for green day, unlimited healthy carbs, and weigh the meat!
Honestly i've never eaten so much food in my life!
But its true to lose weigh and to get your metabolic rate to increase which speeds up the weight loss you really need to eat often. when you starve your body thinks its not going to fed again and hangs on to the fat.
YOU would get fantastic results more so by doing exersise too, but i've got plastic knees and hips so it wasn't easy for me.
I have set an online forum for all whom are intrested, or already attend slimming world. i only set it up this week, so its very new! But we are lovely lot at our group and i would urge any one to do this! I've attached my forum add and the slimming world website!
Good luck.
Rember only YOU can be what YOU want to be!

I'm a man of same height, who got up to 11stone and felt terrible.
6 weeks later I was 9stone, but it was all down to physical work, and not eating lettuce leaves sat on the sofa.

Spread hummus, mustard, or pureed roasted red pepper on sandwiches as an alternative to mayonnaise.
