Lots of people hose down their dogs in the garden, just so long as you towel dry and the dog has somewhere warm to dry off there is no harm in it, why do people compare humans to dogs?? Of course I wouldn't want to hose myself down in this weather but neither would I jump in the local river in this weather either, which a couple of my dogs love to do, I just make sure I towel them dry when I put them in the car or if we are more local, when we get home.

Depends on where you live. In the hot months, be sure you empty out the water already lying in the hose, before aiming at the dog, it may be scald him or her.

In the cold months, it will make both of you cold and the soap will be harder to rinse out.

In the freezing months it's just too cold. Your hands will freeze before you can adequately rinse the dog.

Other than temp, washing the dog outside is great. The pressure and maneuverability of the hose can be way easier than a tub! And no mess!

Either way, be sure the dog shakes off the water and gets someplace warm to dry. Consider giving him a blanket near a heater or using a hair dryer.

NOOOO! It's freezing cold outside. You need to give the dog a bath inside, or just not give the dog a bath at all. Wipe him/her dog with a washcloth if needed. Most dogs don't NEED a bath alot...only a few times a year considering if damages some dogs skin and coat.

Could be a little cold to wash the dog outside at the moment, so if you do do that then make sure the water is warm.

Once the undercoat of a dog is wet, it can't moderate it's temp properly and will get ill if it doesn't warm up very quickly

b arsed, or just put up with a stinky dog.

or...say you washed it, then took it for a walk again and it rolled... she will have to do it!

Poor dogs will freeze if you use the hosepipe. If you care about the dogs, get in the bathroom!!

NO!!!! It's bloody freezing out there! The poor dogs'll turn into SnowDogs!

If it's that bad, can't you use a shower attachment on them? It really is too cold to bath outside - think how you'd feel!?

If you really can't be arsed, take them to a grooming parlour!

Happy Christmas!

Use a bucket of warm water out the back, give him a good rub down with a towel then get him back in as quick as you can.

well it would give the neighbours a laugh as you try to catch dodging doggies, then they of course will shake as only dogs can and you will be as wet and cold as them.
