hey i'm not in the business of casting spells on people. I handle issues with words and tact not book and bell
my God how immature are you people? I asked a question specifically only for witches and yet you take it upon yourself to answer a question which you have no grasp of or hope of understanding?
ok lets stereotype. Witches all cast spells, have sex in magic circles and have a black cat. In the same way all of you christians are faith blind, paternally damaged, approval seeking, paedophilic cultists.
How do you like it?

Not really. It's more of a way of life---a daily thing. I work the night shift so I always know the moon phase anyway because I look for it every night. I enjoy the seasons and look forward to them. But rather than using only the holidays, I celebrate the little things along the way---such as the first dandelion, the song of the cicadas, the first real snow, when sweet corn gets ripe, the smell of lilacs and viburnum in the spring, geese flying south, whether I get to see the sunrise/sunset on my work commute, etc. I also garden and enjoy backyard birdwatching, so that keeps me in touch with the seasons too. It just becomes a habit to really notice what's around us every day. Holidays are important to me but not as important as the daily stuff.

Hello
Are you new to all this magic? Ive been doing White Magic for approx 2 years now and im still learning. As for the phases of the moon, ive put them in a book and I just keep watch everytime the moon is in the sky. Still get it wrong occassionally.
AS FOR ALL OF YOU OUT THERE who have only the time but to curse others,
TRUE WHITE WITCHES actually follow a Harm None Rule which binds us from doing and causing any harm to others. We dont ride on broomsticks, we dont have to have a black cat and we dont have to dance round a fire chanting words. We dont kill another living thing in our spell doings either. Most of the time we only use herbs, crystals, oils and candles in our spells.
Everyone has a inner witch, or a third eye to speak. And this isnt a blinking eye in the middle of our forehead. What we do is all natural, just in the same way as Aromatherapists, Pagans, Mediums, Tarot Readers, etc etc etc. There are many NATRUAL Witches out there but we dont look any different and we dont act any different.
Im in a normal job, in a normal family, have a normal life style, go clubbing, drinking, etc etc. I just spend time on my own when i want some peace and quiet away from the everyday hassles and stress that life brings us. We all have our own interests and if you ACTUALLY believed in magic you would see it really does work.
But forget what you've seen on tv, in films, horrors etc we arent like that.
Peace be with you all

Yes it can be very daunting at times. 13 Esbats and 8 Sabbats is quite a bit to manage. But you do have to remember that these only have to be as complex as you make them. I remember once last year my circle was to get together for a Esbat when we were hit with a foot of snow making it impossible to get together. So I went out in the snow, late at night, and shoveled while standing in the full moon light and listening to the wind softly blowing in the branches. I will always remember that Esbat as one where I felt closest to the Goddess and Nature, not for being in circle or observing every step or word for the ritual but just for being surrounded by the blessings of life. You must remember our traditions are not carved in stone but they are written in the sky. If rituals are too complex, trim them down and simplify them.

I used to be into Witchcraft, but that was years ago. And I never had to look into stages of the moon. I think the moon is only for curse spells, or spells that will at least bite you in the butt one day, which you should never do. You could end up dead if you do a spell to bend someone's will.

No, you do not have to follow every single important date and moon phase. You choose your own style and and observe the important dates which you want to. It is up to you how you live your life and how you want to spend your time. Do not get caught in the traditions that you read about, make your own tradition following the simple rules......

All religions are complicated if you take them seriously. At least when you're a Christian, you've got someone else to do the complicated stuff.

It's actually enjoyable to cause nasty people to fall in a muddy puddle, and find their knickers have disappeared!
Then my broomsick gives them a good smack.
Maybe we should make synchronized knickerless broomstick flying an Olympic event!!
