YES! It's actually (usually) spelled as SAPHAN PHUT which means Phut Bridge which is located near the China Town area near the FLower Market along the mighty Chao Phraya River.
Just say "PAI TALAT SAP-HAN PUT NA KHA" to the taxi driver and they know where it is. It can be approached in different directions from depending where you are in Bangkok. ("talat" means market, "pai" means go, "na kha" is used to express politeness).
Is it worth to check it out? Of course it is. Because it's not your typical "tourist night market", the prices there are way lower than other night markets although they are selling mostly the same stuffs like apparels, shoes, home deco, pirated CDs, etc. The prices here are around 20-30% lower because it caters mostly for locals.
Other cheap shopping areas are Bopae Market (wholesalers) on the lower end of the scale to the airconditioned Platinum Mall on the higher end where the prices are not "scandalous". Platinum Mall is next to Pratunam Market (best for wholesale prices too) accross the road. Though it looks like a typical mall with retailer stalls, these stalls are actually their offices to accept wholesale orders. This area (Pratunam shopping area)cannot be covered in one shopping day. You have to allocate at least 2 days to find the best prices for wholesalers.
Chatuchak Market is not open on Fridays I'm afraid. Except for the surrounding stalls outside tha main market which offers mainly landscaping stuffs, pet services, old books, etc. This market is on full (and only) swing on Saturdays and Sundays. Go early morning at around 8am so you can get a head start. It can get really crowded when the clock ticks 11 o'clock. Bring water with you. This market usually have more varieties to offer.
I hope this would help you my friend.

Hi, Saphan Phut night market is at a much lower end scale, in comparison to other night markets, like along Silom, Sukhumvit. Here are usually cheaper quality items and second-hand goods. Nice to look around, but you are not likely to find anything of interest, even souvenir, as this place caters to the locals. The better thing is the flower market that comes alive at night. Stalls sell flowers of evry kind there. You can get lots of flowers by the bundle for low low price. Good if you want to bring some home with you.
As for Chatuchak, the weekend market do start opening on Friday afternoon, when stall owners come in to prepare for the weekend sale. You can still browse around the place as quite a few stalls will have opened for this preparation.
If not, next door is Chatuchak or Jatujak Plaza. This is open 7 days a week and you may have crossed over without knowing while visiting the weekend market. There is an open fence separating the 2 places. Plus there is another local produce market nearby now, which you can browse for local arts and crafts too. So you can take a walk around if you want to, even on weekdays.
Have fun.

Sapanphut market is a night market near the river, where is the memorial bridge. Nothing interesting there, but the biggest Bangkok flower market there is nice.

what you are looking for is the night market at SAPHAN PUT (memorial bridge) near little india / chinatown.
easiest way to get there is by river taxi, get off memorial bridge.
used to be a lot of second hand stuff but now has the full range - worth checking out.
