I have been going to Thailand for the last 20 years, it,s a fascinating country. The people are wonderfull. the weather ,scenery, food, amazing. Unexpensive to boot. I hope to go and live there in the near future, with my thai wife. Even after all these visits i am no way bored with the place. But as with all vacations, do not go out alone at night, even on the beaches unless you are 100% sure it,s safe. Have a nice holiday, and enjoy a wonderfull country.

Thailand is a brilliant country- so many contrasts. Those who think it is cheap or seedy either haven't been or did not research properly before they went. Yes there are sex shows and bar girls but not where we choose to go. Even within Bangkok you can pick your district carefully. I have to admit to not being too sure about Bangkok before our first visit but decided to give it a go. We only spent 2 and a half days and it just wasn't long enough. If combining with a beach resort you will need to pick carefully depending on what time of year you are going. For instance, I would not go to Phuket in the summer( and I'm sure people have, but it is a gamble weather wise). As you are going next month, Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui would all be good places to go to. Just decide what you want from your holiday first before picking!

Thailand is an amazing place to visit, with friendly people and great vacation spots. Check out Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand, or Phuket, which is an island in the south.

Thailand ranks high on my list. Likes any new place I go to anyway.
Well, what do you want to do in Thailand? Shopping trip? Spa holiday? Beach holiday? Mountain getaway? These are to be found in different parts of Thailand. Suggest you check out www.tourismthailand.org for more info before you head down. You can email me at tongbn@yahoo.co.uk if you want some suggestions.
Enjoy.

Thailand is my FAVE country for a great holiday! Local people is friendly & polite, things are cheap and most importantly, there are so many places to visit in BKK itself, unlike being in my own country, where you've no place to visit.
I'll definitely go to BKK and conquer the shopping & food heaven again!

If you are coming to this part of Asia - Thailand - why not try Laos? A great laid-back country, with friendly people, good food and a totally relaxed attitude to life.
I know of no one who has spent some time there not to dislike the place, it is magic.

The Philippines is much better, not so many tourists, not commercial except in Boracay, Puerto Galera and Cebu, it's unspoilt mainly throughout it's 7107 islands. Palawan is the last frontier but still has some lovely resorts.

january is a high season to visit thailand because the weather is perfect so the ticket can be expensive. the beach on the west coast (indian ocean) would be calm perfect for snorkeling, diving. go up to mountains in the north for spectacular sunrises and sea of fog and the royal floral exposition in chiang mai.

Had a fantastic holiday last year, 3 days in Bangkok for shopping and nightlife and 7 days in Koh Samui, beautiful beaches, very relaxing. My boyfriend and I walked down the beach barefeet each evening and tried a different beach restaurant. You sit with your feet in the sand with the sea gently lapping - heaven!
