the only piece of equipment required to open a champagne bottle is a nice towel. You un twist the wire hood, remove from top of cork. place towel over the cork, twist the bottle not the cork very gently and it should ease right out of the bottle.
No corkscrew required and probably wouldn't want to be around if you tried to open one with it. You would probably break the neck of the bottle or have the cork fly out and hit somebody.

1) You'll probably ruin the corkscrew as champagne corks are firmer.
2) You'll loss champagne as it fizz throught the opening when the cork comes out.
3) People around you will probably laugh for amusment...or some other reason.

You would probably hurt yourself, the correct way to open champagne is to ease out the cork and not spill it, opening it quickly and with a lot of fizz and bang is dangerous and waste full, why do you buy a bottle of champagne just to spray it all over the carpet ?

You can, but it surely means that your champagne has lost a large part of its gaz.
To make it drinkable, just add in your glass a little bit of blackcurrent liquor....we call that : " a kir" in France

If you have one of the special stoppers for sparkling wine to keep the gas in it should be fine. But don't leave it too long.
