I believe they do. I have a hard time opening up to a person. I tend to hold things back and it normally makes things somewhat difficult for a relationship to form. What say you?

I think people are so starved for attention and love that they do jump in a little too quickly. I know a few people who have moved in together within 2 weeks of knowing one another, of course these relationships lasted only 2 more weeks if that but it is the point. These people were so blinded by "love" they gave everything up for one another within 2 weeks! I wouldn't have even let the guy put his arm around me within that time let alone move in. So I tend to sit back and wonder what in the hell is wrong with these people. I do hold things back but unlike you I do not think it effects my relationships negatively, If a person can't wait for me to be ready then obviously they are not what I'm looking for. I judge quickly a persons character by looking at their friends family and surroundings. I do believe you choose who and what you are surrounded with. If someone happens to be surrounded with friends who drink too much or do drugs I will be around long enough to chuckle and make my exit.

Try not to think of it negatively, you could be on the other extreme moving in and out of apartments, houses, trailers...because you were quick to fall in love with Bob the trucker. You choose your surroundings be picky! Don't give yourself away to those who are not worthy of your company.

Me too, holding back I mean but when I open up there's no turning back. We can never know someone well until we've actually lived with them for a while. There's that and then the fact that we actually don't really give our hearts on purpose it just get kinds "given" on its own!!!

Hmmm... i guess u are just cautious. Not necessarily a bad thing. And for people who give their hearts away freely, thats not a bad thing either. we all have different way that we "operated on", consciously or subconsciously.
