I was bending over yesterday, and suddenly 2 floaters appeared in my left eye right next to each other. Now they are there all the time. Reading & computer especially annoying as they flick to and fro all the time. Will they ever go away? Are they a sign of something worrying? Please help!

Floaters are just bits of cells and stuff floating in the eye. They can be very annoying as they remain relatively fixed within the eye and so they seem to move wherever you look.

Some do go away by eventually floating out of you main line of sight, but some don't. However, they're not generally something to be concerned about.

If they are a severe problem, then it's possible to get part or all of the vitreous humour (the gel-like filling of the eye) removed and replaced and the floaters will be removed with it. However this is a "last resort" procedure as there is the potential for permanent blindness. They can also be reduced by laser eye surgery. This is a more preferable option as it is safer but, as it only causes the floaters to break down into smaller parts, it is not successful in all patients.

I'm 53 and had developed eye floaters about 4 or 5 years ago. The doctors told me that they're harmless, but whoever has had them knows how annoying they are. They also said that I could have them "burned off" with laser surgery, but there was no way I was going to "burn" anything off my eyes! So I kind of accepted that my floaters were there to stay.

Then I came across this system, and seeing that you were offering a full money back guarantee, I figured I had nothing to lose well I was wrong - I did lose my floaters!! Oh my god I still can't believe my floaters are gone and my vision is as pristine as it was 5 years ago!

Getting rid of eye floaters without the high costs & dangers of laser treatments?

My dad had the same complaint a month ago - he went to the doctors and they say it is a membrane that you have across your eye when your born and it all falls in under your eye when you come into the world. Through the years occasionally it gets thrown up through stress etc in crystal form and some stays. The bad news is there is nothing you can do, however the brain will compensate for this and you will not notice it over time.

Hope this helps

You should go and see the doctor. My mother had floaters, that ended up being like having tadpoles in her eyes is how she described them. She in fact had a detached retina. She is fine now and has no problem with her sight. However, this is her case story and yours may be different but get it examined as eye sight is so important.

Don't worry. I have the same thing. I was really freaking out the first time I saw them...thought they might be some kind of animals. SO got it checked out by the doc, and it appears it's nothing more than little pieces of tissues or things like that that will float around. Nothing you can do to get rid of them. They'll move around by themselves. You should only worry if they get tangled somewhere they shouldn't...and you'll know that if you see a permanent black dot..or if you have white flashes. Then you should see your doc immediately.

But it's nothing serious! Happens to lots of people. Hope this reassures you...

See your optometrist who will diagnose better but sometimes it could be due to a trauma that has occurred with the eye.
ive got a floater in one eye (damn black speck that comes and goes) and ive had it for years and the optometrist advised that its not cause for concern but wont go away ..
but to be sure, please go and see your optometrist.
