Read up on all the info. in advance and make up your own game plan. Get your sleep before and after the visit. Skip all the family type attractions like Disney, Ocean Park, Wetland Park etc etc. Check out the links below for variations and options. But Iet's see if you can keep up with the following schedule.
Day 1. " HK Island" Ride Tram to Victoria Peak. Then afternoon bus to Repulse Bay (beach) . Return to Lan Kwai Fong for the night activities in Central.
Day 2 " The Islands" Take bus to Lantau Island and ride the Ngpong 360 skyrail. Commute by bus, so as to see the bridges and scenary. Select activities along the route. Return to shop, dine and clubbing on HK island in the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay area. ( like Times Square )
Day 3 "Kowloon" Start your walking day from the Tsim Ta Tsui area and work your way north through Nathan Road. Afternoon for Ladies Market and evening at Temple Street night market. ( Drop into any watering hole close by)
As always, fit in the rest and meal schedules according to your stamina and needs. Buy an "Octopus" card for easy fare payment for the many variaties of public transportations available. The open markets and local cafes deal with cash, so have HK$500-1000 (US$65-130) on hand especially for the Kowloon day. More if you are planning on loading up the suitcases.

Gosh, I have done this so many times, it's like my old neighbourhood. After I get out of the airport, I take the Airport Flyer bus to downtown Kowloon. I think the number is 32A, if they haven't changed it.
Then I go to the Mirador Mansion and find a nice, clean, cheap, quiet place to stay for 2-3 days. The I go out to the dowtown area of Kowloon, and look for Indian food restaurants. There are many to be found - from the cheap to the expensive. Good food!
There are two decent bookstores, one on Lock Rd. just off Nathan Rd., it's called Swindon's. The other is a ferry ride across to Central on a Star Ferry. A short and scenic view of the harbour if the pollution isn't that bad!
If you found some postcards, when you are just off the ferry at Central, go to the right, to the post office and mail your friends/family postcards. Buy a copy of the Old Master Q. comic book on sale at most of the roadside newspaper/book vendors. This comic book is a Hong Kong legend!
There are several pubs, if you're looking to drink. The most famous watering hole/restaurant area is called "Lan Kwei Fong", which is on an incline on Hong Kong Island (Central), and is full of bars and restaurants. This is a good itinerary for a night or two, yes? Enjoy. I don't bother with the girlie bars, or street walkers. Oh, and watch out for all the counterfeit merchandise that is sold on the streets.
