Well, first off, Christians and Jews both worship the same God, Jehovah. Unfortunately, that's where the similiarities stop. For example, Muslims don't accept Jesus as the son of God, and some muslims believe that God substituted an evil-dooer in Jesus' place before His Crucifixion. Most Jews don't even accept Jesus as the promised messiah. Jews don't acknowledge the New Testament. I don't ever remember reading about Mohammed in the Holy Bible. Actually, i don't even know who Mohammed is. I don't ever remember reading about Buddah, or the God Hindus worship, or Sihk's worship, in The Holy Bible.
Now, how about a big wrench thrown into the mix? We could talk about Wiccah, which IS a religion. It's witchcraft, which the Bible states as an abomination to God. Even though it's known as "white magick", which is used for good, it's still evil according to the Bible. Even Native Americans have their own religious beliefs.
Even in the whole Christian religion, which branch off into so many others, like Lutherans, Pentacostal, Methodists, 7th-day Adventists, Mormons, Catholics, Baptists, Christians, etc. there are differences in dogma. So all the religions, aside from the Christian and Jewish ones, who are very similiar, are very different. I don't think there could ever be a united church worshipping a God, which everyone would worship.

No. A single God must be a very organised unified person. consider the amazing intricacy of the universe. It is the product of a mind with a strong, unified purpose. He must have a specific view of what worship is acceptable. Anything else must be unacceptable.
Consider: Most religions that have the name of Christianity believe in a Trinity. Only one religion does not, Jehovah's Witnesses. The nature of the objects of worship is different. How can God, if He is a trinity, accept the worship of those who do not believe in a trinity? If God is a single person, how can He find Trinitarian worship acceptable?
Say someone writes a letter to you and addresses it without a name but to your house. The letter inside describes you as completely opposite to what you are. You might think nothing of it, but if you continue to recieve such leters, you would ignore them, perhaps not even opening the envelope or take action to stop the letters all together.
The letters can be equated with prayers. Religious people pray to God, but they do not always address the prayer in the right way, or say the right things in the prayer. If this is how we normally pray, especially if we are not taught to pray correctly, how can God find such prayers and the worship that goes along with them acceptable? He will ignore them and take action to stop them all together.
Note: This does not give anyone the right to speak against any particular faith. If we are speaking to an individual who isn't sure what to believe and asks us for advice, then we can do so. However, public and indiscriminate dissemination of religious hate is wrong. It is disrespectful and creates unnecessary barriers.
Jehovah's witnesses may have further information that is of interest to you. This web site might also be of interest, but only look at it with an open mind.

There are many gods....even devoting ones life to the pursuit of pleasure, riches or material possessions can be viewed as worshipping a "god". If, by a single god, you mean the creator god of the universe, (and will all the atheists and agnostics hold fire before denouncing me) then the only way different religions could get together would be if god intervened and made it happen.
However, I think the problem with your question is focusing on 'religion'. Religion is man-made, not god-made. When god asks us to worship him he does not need fancy churches, traditions of men or for us to 'belong' to a denomination. But how can you worship what you do not know? First people have to find out who god is and the only way to do that is to ask him, not men. I'm trying to keep this simple because there are so many conflicting beliefs out there and it is not my intention to insult or belittle anyone for their beliefs, including those who do not believe in god. We're all entitled to our beliefs.
So, to answer your question, I think that religions will never get together under a single god but god invites everyone to come to him. He asks us to let him into our life - when he asks, will you say "yes"?

The whole point of religion so far has been the divisive range of different gods. For all religions to get together under one god, "He, She or It" would have to reveal him/her/itself to all people simultaneously. And considering that
A) there is no god, so
B) No god has actually been revealed to ANY religion
your wish will never come true. Sorry to disappoint.

God is one. Whatever religion we choose, God is still one. Religion is about finding the truth and about finding which religions can truely explain about God the way God want us to know Him.

Invitation to All Believers
[3:64] Say, "O followers of the scripture, let us come to a logical agreement between us and you: that we shall not worship except GOD; that we never set up any idols besides Him, nor set up any human beings as lords beside GOD." If they turn away, say, "Bear witness that we are submitters."
[3:65] O followers of the scripture, why do you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Do you not understand?
[3:66] You have argued about things you knew; why do you argue about things you do not know? GOD knows, while you do not know.
[3:67] Abraham was neither Jewish, nor Christian; he was a monotheist submitter. He never was an idol worshiper.
[3:68] The people most worthy of Abraham are those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe. GOD is the Lord and Master of the believers.
[3:69] Some followers of the scripture wish to lead you astray, but they only lead themselves astray, without perceiving.
[3:70] O followers of the scripture, why do you reject these revelations of GOD though you bear witness (that this is the truth)?
[3:71] O followers of the scripture, why do you confound the truth with falsehood, and conceal the truth, knowingly?
[3:72] Some followers of the scripture say, "Believe in what was sent down to the believers in the morning, and reject it in the evening; maybe someday they will revert.
[3:73] "And do not believe except as those who follow your religion." Say, "The true guidance is GOD's guidance." If they claim that they have the same guidance, or argue with you about your Lord, say, "All grace is in GOD's hand; He bestows it upon whomever He wills." GOD is Bounteous, Omniscient.
[3:74] He specifies His mercy for whomever He wills; GOD possesses unlimited grace.
Be Honest With All People
[3:75] Some followers of the scripture can be trusted with a whole lot, and they will give it back to you. Others among them cannot be trusted with a single dinar; they will not repay you unless you keep after them. That is because they say, "We do not have to be honest when dealing with the gentiles!" Thus, they attribute lies to GOD, knowingly.
[3:76] Indeed, those who fulfill their obligations and lead a righteous life, GOD loves the righteous.
[3:77] As for those who trade away GOD's covenant, and their obligations, for a cheap price, they receive no share in the Hereafter. GOD will not speak to them, nor look at them, on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. They have incurred a painful retribution.
No Compulsion in Religion
[2:256] There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient
[2:257] GOD is Lord of those who believe; He leads them out of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their lords are their idols; they lead them out of the light into darkness - these will be the dwellers of Hell; they abide in it forever.

No. If you understand the religions and what they each teach you will see that many exclude others Atheism, Polytheism, Monotheism are definitely mutually exclusive. Any religion that teach there is no truth excludes those that teach that there is truth and vice versa. The God of the Bible differs in that He loves us so much He paid the price for our sins and came to us, rather than us having to do, do, do to get to Him. Then we can Do out ouf thankfulness, rather than to buy our way to him, which we can never do.

what god would be picked? and what about the other gods? would the other gods egos be bruised, would we have wars because some pissed off god wasnt picked, sounds very much like this road as been trod before, but of course that is only my opinion.
and of course every religion has a book that was wrote by man so thats as to be the truth,of course i was forgetting it was dictated by god,to certain people?,so would prove to me that one of these gods would be pretty pissed off if he wasnt picked as the overall god.
