I installed this bloody thing the other day and now my shortcuts don't work! My documents, program files etc won't run from the taskbar or desktop. Anyone know how to fix this? I have tried re-entering them but they still won't work! Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Is this a recommendation for IE7?

Here I could not make IE7 to work (yet).

If you can live without IE7, and if you had IE6 installed before IE7, then simply removing IE7 through the standard procedure (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Windows Internet Explorer 7 -> Change/Remove) will probably do and reinstate a properly working IE6. (At least that did it here.)

You only need to do a search on here to see how many people are having problems with IE7. The best thing to do is download Mozilla Firefox available from http://www.mozilla.com/ Its faster, more user friendly, easily customizable to suit your need and no problems.

uninstall ie7 to roll back to IE6. Apply any windows updates. I would also suggest removing any toolbars and addons that use IE such as google toolbar, yaho toolbar or any others then try upgrading again.

Like others in this thread I would also suggest ditching IE and going with firefox or opera.

Internet explorer has a lot of Internet vulnerabilities, try and replace it with Mozilla Firefox. I've been using it for a long time and I'm pleased with it.
Unfortunately the version you have might have a bug.

Uninstall it and download it again.
Download and install any Windows Updates you need.
Update all of your anti virus and anti spyware programs.
Use System Restore to take your pc back to before you installed it.
Reboot.
Disconnect from the internet.
Pause your anti virus.
Install IE7.
Restart your anti virus.
Try that.

If you perservere with IE7, when you reinstall it, make sure you disable your third party firewall, antivirus and resident antispyware. Turn on windows firewall.

there is another way
uninstall IE 7
download firefox and use that instead

I have IE 6 & firefox on the smae machine... the one I regularly use is Firefox. To me Firefox is easier to use.

Id suggest you try it out, and see what you think
