Puppies should not go that long without water and food. You have remember that they are babies and just like human babies they need to be small amounts 3 to 4 times a day.
What you can do is to feed your puppy a good quaulity large breed dry puppy food (i.e.Iams, Eukanuba). Before you leave for school give the puppy the recommended amount on the bag. Be sure you let the puppy outside after it eats so it can potty. Then put the same amount (or a litte more) in the bowl so it has something to eat during the day while you are gone and then feed it when you get home. Be sure there is plenty of clean water.
I hope this works for you. I have 6 dogs of my own, my dogs have food out in 2 large bowls all the time, so they eat whenever they want, you could the same thing if you wish.

A puppy should have atleast 3-4 small meals per day so it should be fed in the morning, afternoon and night.
It should be without food (as a growing puppy) for 7 hours.
I think you should really try and "convince" getting your parents to ATLEAST feed him/her while you're at school.
As this puppy will be apart of your WHOLE family, I really don't see why your PARENTS wouldn't even FEED the puppy while you are at school.
Maybe do some extra chores around the house or offer to do something special (breakfast in bed for mum on Saturday) maybe.

Your mom is right. You can feed your dog before and after school then an evening meal. For years I have fed my dogs on a schedule of before work, after work and evening. You take their daily ration, divide by three and there you go. If the dog starts getting to heavy, cut back a little on each meal. If the dog starts to lose weight, add a little to each meal. You can figure out how much to feed at a meal. I have a fifty pound amstaff and he gets a cup of kibble three times a day. He stays a trim (muscular) fifty pounds.

My goldens devour California organic made by using a similar company as Innova (Natura). do no longer feed Purina or Beneful - it really is done of additions and byproducts and is poor nutrition. back when I first began possessing goldens, I fed it and had no longer some thing yet nutrition hypersensitivity issues. Natura manufacturers are human grade and all elements are sourced in the U.S. Canidae is yet another kind properly worth attempting.

your right puppies need feeding at least four times a daybecause they have small stomaches they cant digest a lot of food at once. you need your parents to take responsibility while you are at school because the pup will need to go out to relieve himself. i hope you get their support and i hope you take your responsibility to your pup seriously dogs make brilliant loyal friends if you treat them with the respect they deserve. all the best

Feeding time should be fine. Please don't forget to walk your new pup everyday when you get home from school. Go with someone. It's very important bonding time with you and your new pup- Dog's should be walked 45 minutes or more everyday. You are going to be a pack leader!
