Write it with plenty of anecdotes and humour. The anecdotes should embarrass the groom slightly, but you should also try and compliment him through it. The aim is to make people laugh, feel nostalgic and realise what a well suited pair the couple is (and make the in-laws glad the groom is a new member of their family).

No real formula. Just have your friend jot down a few memories of them together and maybe some of couple's early time together. Wish them the best and make the tone light.

Well, there's nothing quite like drawing a face on your bum and then mooning the guests and wobbling your bum as you talk so it looks like you're talking out of your ar'se - which after a few bottles of champers, you probably will be.

Everyone likes a nob gag and a bit of insulting the in laws.

Finish up by pi'ssing onto the floor from the table and claiming it's your golden shower of goodwill or something - they'll be talking about it for years.
