My cat peed on my mom's new couch, it's a really nice material.
How can I clean it without ruining it?

Try Urine-Be-Gone. We used it when our cat peed on my mother-in-law's couch, and she never knew the difference.

Fortunately, yes you can. They have some good cleaning products out now. Get Nature's Miracle or a new product that dissolves the chemicals in cat urine, it's called Pee Pee. It works great and you will never smell anything. It cleans the stain also. You can only get it at a pet store. Be sure to lock you cat up in a room with the potty box until he/she starts using it exclusively. Usually about 2-3 weeks. Good Luck!

You can try Nature's Miracle, found in pet stores.
I have tried that and a bunch of other things (professionally cleaned, mixture of vinegar, water, liquid clothes detergent, FeBreeze, washed the cushions in the bathtub and sprayed Nature's Miracle on them, covered them in plastice and put the seat covers back on). I can still smell it if you press on the foam on the couch.

So what I am going to do is cover the couch with a shower curtain and put a comforter over it. That should do the trick.

You should get your cat checked to see if it has a urinary infection. My cat had one, which is why she peed on the couch. It is treatable and now she only goes in her litterbox.

Oh gosh, don't take that advice and put the material in the washer. It might shrink and really be ruined. Urine be Gone is okay, but not as good as Nature's Miracle. It will get rid of the smell and the stain and will not stain the fabric. You can get it at petsmart or petco. You know the cat will pee in the same spot again don't you? You might want to put the cat outside or get rid of it or mom might be getting rid of you.

if your couch has removeable cushions the job is easier if the target is here, use a mild solution of t.s.p.( trisodium phosphate) its water soluable so it won't leave a residue. do a spot test to check for color fade in a tiny area that won't be noticeable before soaking the cushion to break up the protein and ammonia components in the cushion, squeeze out and wrinse with cold water until there isn't any slick soapy feeling on your hands and let dry. tsp is concentrated so go spareingly. avoid eye contact(rinse with water) or use a steamer, with same solution followed by plain water steam to finish, blotting dry

You can try the expensive stuff you get at the pet store, but mine did that for a while and I had to get rid of the couch... Cat pee is the WORST smell in the world...

Nice, Chirs B...nice...I guess that is one way...

Febreze does nothing for the cat pee smell. Borax works for me. You can find it with the laundry detergents at the grocery store. Follow the directions on the box.

i tried everything, and still on hot days you could smell a faint odour of cats pee, I just told guests it was a new cologne I had bought from the internet, we had to have a child in the end just so we had something to blame the smell on.

sell the couch, kill the cat, buy a goldfish, its a lot easier

Urine into the cushions is often a annoying concern. you would be able to desire to attempt and blot it out as ultimate as you may. And for what I even have used, it incredibly is vinegar and water, and that i blot it into the section and enable it dry. it works incredibly speedy. i'm offering a link. Wash the covers in a cycle with a cup of vinegar, and then a widely used washing in case you opt for. which will kill all the heady scent.

Call a proffesional cleaner, usually the couch has to be thrown out, unless the material is treated.
