You can get any size of printoutfrom these cameras (in theory). In practice it is a question of quality. Assuming that your printout has a ratio of 10/15 and the pixel size is P, the pixels ler line that you will get is sqrt(15/10 x P). To get a good print this should be at least 200 pixels per inch. For 2 megapixels, this means about 1700 pixels or 8.5 inces, for 3 megapixels 2120 pxiles or 10.5 inces, for 2700 pixles or 14 inches. Note that in practice, godd printing softwares will extrapolate actual camera pictures and eventually allow for good prints at larger sizes. In addition the quality of the actual image will have an impact on how a print will look like, i.e. a 2m picture from an expensive professional digital camera will look much better than the same picture from a cheap mobile camera at the same size, simply because of the quality of the image captured.

Didi may be theoretically correct, but in practice a 5x7 from a 2mp camera is pushing the envelope.
2 or 3mp is best used for 4x6, maybe the occasional 5x7.
4mp will make an acceptable 8x10, and 6-8 will make a decent 11x14 or even a poster, because posters are not viewed from a close distance usually.

2MP: about 13x20cm good quality.
5MP: about A4 good quality.
(Ofcourse, if you use a decent quality photo camera and photo printer.)
I advice to look at this page if you want to buy a digital photo camera:

If you stick to that list, you hardly can buy a poor quality camera.
