I moved into a new neighborhood 3 years ago. I befriended this woman because her 8 year old son liked to play with my 8 year old son. As time went by, she used me for baby-sitting and keeping her son entertained. He is the only child. I cut off the friendship because I did not like the effect her son had on mine. Always acting up..plus she was always copying everything we did. I got frogs for my garden, and she went out and bought some, I get rocks for my side yard, she gets rocks. I buy palm trees, she buys palm trees. It got weird...After i cut it off with her and her family she became furious and now spreads rumors and other neighbors believe her. also her husband lied in order to get us in trouble with other neighbors, saying that we were cursing at their kids. I have been trying to ignore this for 6 months now but with them is always something..I don't want to move i love my house but my son can't play outside because her son harrasses him.HELP!!!

Did you take any of your video recordings to the police? Put sprinklers on the edges of your yard. Get some floodlights and point them towards where they stand. If they come by while you're working at night, on they go. I like Common Sense's suggestion of stopping and going inside the house. Tell the neighbors they can help and speed things up or they can gawk and prevent you from fixing the yard they're so clearly unhappy with.

It sounds like your neighbor is a childish idiot with too much time on her hands.
She's also a coward who talks about you behind your back.
Confront her - every time she spreads a rumor, come at her face to face and make her back it up (she'll back down and will think twice about talking about you)
Also, every time her kid bothers your kid, complain about that, to her, and be reallly vocal about it!
You have to confront bullies like that - they WILL fold under pressure!

A face to face confrontation may be in order. I told an old gossiper once that if she needed to talk about my family, to let us know so we could be there to correct anything she told that wasn't true. I told her if she continued to lie about us, she would be telling her stories to a judge.

I would be outside with my son and if she started **** with me, I would get in her face and tell that hag to back off, I don't even deal with **** like this when it comes to my kid. I could care less if she liked me or what she had to say. She would know exactly how I felt about her and I would leave no words left unsaid. She can move before I will.

I would flip her and husband the bird..and if her son harrassed mine I would call the police so it's on record..as far as the neighbors go...write a kind letter to the nieghbors telling how much you like your home and would like to be friendly with them and if there was any misunderstanding you are sorry..say nothing of the nasty neighbor.....may the force be with you...

don't let your IMMATURE neighbors get to you. I mean, that's ALL she's trying to do. Don't even try and get revenger. then you'll stoop to HER level. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!
show your neighbor, YOUR THE ADULT. and your not gonna let her childish behavior get in the way!!!

Spread rumours about theirs but make sure its something worse. For example say that they have some disease so you stopped their kid from coming over. Once yous tigmatize them enough then no one will believe them.
It's also a good idea to get them in trouble with the law. Buy a dog and hopefully they copy you. Then run over the dog but lay it behind their car in the night. Then put up posters in your neighbourhood for your "lost" dog. Act all sad when you find it behind their car.
Then run over their dog when no one is looking and leave it in their kids room. Accuse them of witchcraft before they have time to speak to anyone else.
When they move out buy their house cheap and claim to find kiddie porn inside. Then submit it to the police for evidence.

i think you should stop talking to her .. you dont need a friend like that , and you know wheather the rumors is true or not ... so dont let it get to you < dont pay attention to it b.cuz it will only make her happier that its affecting you
