Am i working the same muscles? Id prefer it than tying dumbbells to my feet. Its pretty hard getting a weight strap for it here.

Both do work your hamstrings, but the leg curls don't work much more than that.. Squats are compound exercises and work a lot more. They work mainly your quads, hamstrings, and glutes, and secondly work practically all other muscle groups in your body.

Squats are a great compound exercise that works most of your leg. Rather than doing dumbbell leg curls, just put the dumbbells on the floor in front of you and lean down with your legs straight and pick them up, keeping them close to your legs. This targets your hamstrings and is a great exercise for the back of the leg.
