I had near waist length hair and decided I'd take my time and have my hair cut in stages, as I've had long hair ever since I can remember (which my hairdresser knew). Because of this, I decided to have 6 visits to my hairdresser and paid her the correct amount each time. I sensed something was wrong on my last visit, as she wasn't her usual cheerful self. She rang me at home and said, "I'm upset. I won't be doing your hair anymore". I said, "But why? It's nothing wrong with you, it's only the fact that I need to take it in stages to have my hair cut shorter, etc, etc". Now she won't speak to me. What did I do so wrong? I paid her each time.

I've been a hairstylist for 37 years. She or he is a fool for letting you go. My sister had long hair years ago and we cut her hair in stages (4) time in ONE day! for FREE! As a hairstylist I would take advantage of the hair cuts to try new stages and styles. If she is young she doesn't have the patients and if she is older she doesn't have the patients. If I were you I would take advantage of this ( when a door closes a window opens) and find someone that will do as you wish. Remember.... it's your money. I think of some of my clients as friends but what it comes down to is business.

Screw her. Go to a different hairdresser at the same salon. Shes loosing the business and the money. Give your business to someone else.

I would call the salon and complain to management. They seem to have a very unprofessional employee working for them.

Though, maybe she got fired! She could be embarrassed to say anything. I wouldnt call a client and say I got fired. Maybe something went wrong! Ask the salon what going on and if she is still working there!

Lets get this straight. Rather than go to the hairdresser and get your haircut off in one go, and pay one fee, you opted to go six times and pay six fees. You've paid this woman SIX times and now she doesn't want your custom anymore. You're the best customer she has!

She's nuts. Seriously, there's something going on here that you don't know about. I bet she's ditched all her customers, not just you. Maybe an ex-customer is suing her or something. It's definitely not something you've done, it's something happening elsewhere in her life that she doesn't want to talk about.

Cutting off long hair in stages is so common. My sister did it, afriend is currently doing it. So don't feel you asked for anything weird. Get yourself a new hairdresser (always scary at first) and move on from your old moody one.

Well I certainly don't understand why she won't have you as a client anymore. Suggest you take your business elsewhere - I'm sure someone else would be happy to do your hair - you never know you might find a better hairdresser - there are plenty of them around that would appreciate another client. Don't get hung up about it - look elsewhere and just have a trim first to check them out. Good luck.

Maybe it is the money thing and how long she is having to take with your hair.
Maybe she has changed salons and she had an agreement with the salon she would not take customers if she left.
Maybe the salon owner pushed another customer on her during your time slot because another girl quit.
It could be a lot of things. Stop by the salon and talk to her. It might not be her fault.

A bit daft to cut all your hair off anyway. Long hair is much better - perhaps she thought you were daft for doing so. Some hairdressers and girls say 'oh, that's a nice haircut' but all men like long hair - I haven't men one that doesn't even if they have to keep it a secret. My hair is shoulder length and I wouldnt cut it save to remove split ends.

Grow it back.........................

i would just go into the shop and confront her about it, i'm a hairdresser and sometimes you do feel like not doing certain peoples hair but yeah i'd never go ahead and tell them i didn't want them as my client anymore unless something was truley wrong like interfering with your life.....

Pay her a visit and ask her what her reasons are for refusing to do your hair...? Better than it getting to you.

Why don't you ask, instead of getting us to guess?

Though I think it's fairly obvious by the way you responded to the above fairly innocent but straightforward answer.
