Since the airport in Las Vegas is only a 10-15 minute taxi ride at most to any of the hotels on the strip, and the flight is only 45 minutes as opposed to 4 1/2 hours in the car.... I would fly.

Sure there is waiting time at the airport which adds to the overall time consideration, but don't you want to be relaxed and not exhausted from driving when you get there?

Also, the costs are probably MORE for driving. $80-$100 round trip average gas price plus $20 per day to park your car make this a fairly easy decision I think

Good Luck

Drive to LAX airport 45 min (with traffic)
Early arrival for security 90 min
Flight 60 min
Rental car/taxi line 15 min
Trip to LV Strip 30 min (with traffic)

Looks like 4 hours no matter what...

I'd say driving would take 4hour drive, but flying is approximately 2-3hours in total, but you know how it is in some airports, sometimes flights get delayed and long lines.
