Depends, some it takes a couple of dates, others they know EXACTLY what they want when they approach you.

I find women like to do that a HELL of a lot too....of course the excuse is "oh you're just a friend" yet hold hands kiss all that as if they were in a relationship....if that isn't the most blatant display of stringin someone along i don't know WHAT is.

But i honestly think it might be an unconscious thing...that "okay he's good but maybe there's better so let me hold on to him/her until something better comes" which of course there always will, and their insatiable desire to find better won't be appeased cause they keep thinking there's better so they leave that one person high and dry but on a string cause one the person is ignorantly in love with them and has the time and patience to wait, while she endlessly and foolishly chases after her midas gold and of course....we revert back to this question that you ask :).
