The Bible does not say much about the sons of Ishmael and ishmaelites.
God promised Hagar the mother of Ishmael and the Bond woman of Sarai the wife of Abraham, He will make her son Ishmael a great nation and 12 kings will come out of Him. Further God said he will be against to his brothers.
When god made His covenant to Abraham, Abraham had no children and his wife was barren.
Sarai Abraham's wife and Abraham thought God is going to bless them with children through an adopted child of their servant Hagar.
So Sarai made Abraham to lie with Hagar and Ishmael was born through her.
But this was not the will of God.
Since Abraham did not believe God that his wife will bear a child, and believed sarai's words, the children of Abraham is still fighting today
God made his covenant with Abraham, his son Issac, his son Jacob and to his generations.
God is not humans like us to keep on changing His words.

Perfect Security for Believers

[6:82] Those who believe, and do not pollute their belief with idol worship, have deserved the perfect security, and they are truly guided.

[6:83] Such was our argument, with which we supported Abraham against his people. We exalt whomever we will to higher ranks. Your Lord is Most Wise, Omniscient.

[6:84] And we granted him Isaac and Jacob, and we guided both of them. Similarly, we guided Noah before that, and from his descendants (we guided) David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. We thus reward the righteous.

[6:85] Also, Zachariah, John, Jesus, and Elias; all were righteous.

[6:86] And Ismail, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot; each of these we distinguished over all the people.

[6:87] From among their ancestors, their descendants, and their siblings, we chose many, and we guided them in a straight path.

[6:88] Such is GOD's guidance, with which He guides whomever He chooses from among His servants. Had any of them fallen into idolatry, their works would have been nullified.

[6:89] Those were the ones to whom we have given the scripture, wisdom, and prophethood. If these people disbelieve, we will substitute others in their place, and the new people will not be disbelievers.

[6:90] These are the ones guided by GOD; you shall be guided in their footsteps. Say, "I do not ask you for any wage. This is but a message for all the people."

When his Lord said to him, Submit (i.e., be a Muslim)! He said, I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists) (2:131).

And this (submission to Allah, Islam) was enjoined by Ibrahim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Yaqub (Jacob), (saying), O my sons! Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islam (as Muslims - Islamic Monotheism). (2:132).

Say (O Muslims), We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Yaqub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam) (2:136).

Or say you that Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqub (Jacob) and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Yaqub (Jacob)] were Jews or Christians? Say, Do you know better or does Allah (knows better… that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony [i.e., to believe in Prophet Muhammad when he comes, written in their Books (See Verse 7:157)] he has from Allah? And Allah is not heedless of what you do (2:140).

The fools (pagans, hypocrites) among the people will say, What has turned them (Muslims) from their Qiblah [prayer direction (towards Jerusalem)] to which they were used to face in prayer. Say, (O Muhammad): To Allah belong both, east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a Straight Way (2:142).

Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you. And We made the Qiblah (prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger (Muhammad) from those who would turn on their heels (i.e., disobey the Messenger). Indeed it was great (heavy) except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost (i.e., your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly, Allah is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind (2:143).

Then when Isa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: Who will be my helpers in Allah’s cause? Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e., we submit to Allah) (3:52).

Say (O Muhammad): O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: Bear witness that we are Muslims (3:64).
