I used to have an account with them, and they are less legitimate than Mate1. I suggest you use Mate1, actually.

It's not so bad for women. There are 4 men to every woman, so you'll get a lot of responses (it will tend to be quantity instead of quality, cause a lot of your responses will be from pervs)
For guys, Match.com is AWFUL - there's a guy out in Seattle who's suing them for fraud, because they allegedly had employees of the company go on fake dates with male subscribers to keep them from cancelling their memberships.

the people that are on there.... are on there for a reason ;)
the women at least. they all have kids or are divorced, even the young ones.
some of them are very desperate and will have their profile on 3+ different dating sites!
