I've heard the similiar question "Atheists, what will convince you that God exists?". I was just wondering what, if anything, would convince you that God does not exist.

There is no need to use biblical quotes or try to convince me that God is real. I am neither saying God exists nor God does not exist. I'm just curious if anything would make a Christian doubt the idea of God.

Examples of answers:
* "If the creation of the universe was undoubtly discovered not to have been created by God."
* "There is nothing that would ever make me doubt God."

Agnostic here, and I get your point, but no. Once they admit it, their lives lose meaning. I wish i had a business where I got 10% for fairy-tales... but that's beside the point.

They won't admit because they were lost once, they feel found now, and they don't want to go back.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

According to science every cause has an effect every action has a reaction so every thing that is and will be is caused or created by something before it therefore the universe is here right? If something besides god made it then what made that and so on etc... I have also been healed by god, I was suppose to die in the womb but I was prayed over and the next thing you know I was perfectly healthy. The doctor said all the test must have been wrong and couldn't explain it. So nothing could make me believe that god dosn't exist because i'm walking proof that he dose.

If God was merely a theory to me, or some far-removed, unapproachable entity with no communication between Himself and His creation, or He was an abstract concept I used to make myself feel all "warm and fuzzy", then Yes, I could be convinced otherwise because I would have a "blind and shallow faith."

Fortunately, God is so much more than that! I believe because God has made Himself known to me. I have felt the presence of God, the "peace that surpasses all understanding". It transcends understanding because it cannot be explained away - one minute, I was sobbing on the floor and in mental anguish over my circumstances; the next, I was immediately flooded with perfect peace. My circumstances hadn't changed one bit, but I felt peace because God, my heavenly Father, was comforting me. I have had prayers answered in such a personal way and had events unfold in such a way that there is NO chalking it up to coincidence. To deny or disown God now, after all the evidence He's provided me, would be the same as betraying and turning my back on my own father or my best friend.

It's not always easy to follow Christ. A lot of times I would much rather have things my own way. And, I'm not some mindless, brainwashed drone who blindly follows the masses. I am skeptical by nature, and I am as much a free thinker as anyone. I value logic and reason, and these were not abandoned once I became a Christian.

After all, how can I follow one of the greatest commandments to "Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your MIND..." if my brain is not functioning to full capacity? Before I was saved, I had the same doubts and questions most non-believers do, if not more! The good news is, God does not shy away from, nor is He threatened by our questions. In fact, the Bible is full of people of faith questioning God and God answering them.

Questioning is a good thing because God uses it to strengthen and mature our faith. My faith is not blind or illogical.

Simple logic in a non religious context says that there is a God. Even Einstein in his later life conceded that due to the immense complexity of the universe and laws of physics, that it all showed evidence of design. You say design, then you have to concede designer. Laws of probability preclude spontaneous generation of matter and even the simplest form of life. The second law of thermodynamics (which has never been refuted) simply states that all things, energy and matter go from a state of greater complexity to entropy, or randomness, greater diversity to chaos. Put a red hot piece of metal in a room, and come back the next day..the room and metal are the same temperature. Our universe is slowly winding down, and some astro-physicists see evidence of this. Big Bang theory is all but abandoned. Simple demonstration. Take your favorite watch and beat is into a molecular powder. Then put it in a jar and shake it around to see how long it takes to reassemble into a working timepiece. I say never in a billion trillion years. Can any thinking person without an agenda say different?

Dear Derek Cannon,

i can not think of anything that can make me doubt the existence of God. As a believer i am set on following God to the best of my abilities and this is not a frivilous thing- i have formed convictions, had experiences with God and have known God to be real. So it is not something so simple that can say oh my goodness. As a person i think you are always open to changes and adjustments but you must weigh the evidence and i am absolutley convinced that the Bible is the word of God and Jesus Christ was sent to die for my sins- i don't think anything can prove that otherwise.

i know a lot of people will give answers like Christians are brain-washed or this and that- but i think it's unfair to assume that all Christians grow up Christians or do not think or have a basis for their faith. i have a solid faith based on truth, facts, and years of study, and so it's hard for me to imagine one thing changing all of that.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Nothing in Heaven, Hell, or Earth could change my mind and if an atheist comes up to me with scientific statistics I would think in my head that God could have started that. Like God could have started the Big Bang. The only thing God didn't start was the Theory of Evolution. That was man's ill fated dream

I don't need an example to answer this question. I can't tell you
how He made the world but I do know that He did make it. I also
know that there is nothing that anyone can say that would ever
make me doubt the existance of GOD. I just know.

I don't think so and I've been trying to get christians to think for themselves for some time. I used to be christian but I recovered. It is letting go of a security blanket. Reality is not as comforting. They remind me of people who are in denial about drug addiction. There may be some sort of awareness after we die, but saying there is without any evidence is wishful thinking. No matter how much we wish it to be we can't make it so. I am still so amazed how gullible humans are.

Tell me this:

What evolutionary pressure resulted in the development of a brain that can absorb 10MBs per second of data, with the storage capacity to last over 10,000 years? If man was not created to live forever on Earth, than did man once live for 10,000 years and now we have de-evolved?

I have used my brain, when I was doubting my beliefs, I came to the conclustion that I have more proof that there IS a God than otherwise. I have had some amazing things happen for me that no physical being could have done. So to me, there is no way anyone could convince me otherwise.

I don't believe because someone told me to. I don't believe because i'll go to Hell if I don't. I don't believe because it's been ingrained into me. I believe because I have my own proof.

i would be interested in any reasonable argument contrary to a
godly explanation for the universe. science offers none. i would love to see an example of non bio genesis, whereby life comes from non life. i think that the discovery of life in other planets might also suggest that we aren't so special. there are many ways that science should be able to demonstrate that it can create things if this is so. one day science may and settle the whole thing. but it hasn't happened yet.
