Centralized control breeds corruption. India is only now slowly moving away from a more soviet model towards a free one. Hong Kong should be the economic model for us all. Free the people to better benefit from the fruits of their labor. Poverty institutionalizes corruption. People feel that only by gaming the system can they get ahead. India can and will be a great power again. But only by freeing it's people to conduct business and worship freely can the corruption be checked.

I doubt that corruption can be eradicated. It certainly hasn't been in the United States. I think that the citizens must demand that corrupt persons be removed from office. Are government person elected in India by its citizens? If so, let it be known that they will not be voted for in the next elections.

The only way to eradicate corruption would be to remove the human ability to choose between right and wrong and to have one set of moral and ethical rules that governed the entire world.

Not for another century! Don't even dream about this. This culture is so ingrained in Indian society that there is no power on earth presently or in the future that can accomplish this. At best, one can hope that through the slow and grinding process of education and civic enlightenment and consciousness coupled with tangible economic growth benefiting most in the country, levels of corruption may reduce.

IN reply to your answer-

Dont call me ungrateful. My freedom does not come from the militray or from the American Government. My freedom, and every human beings freedom comes from being human. If anyone tried to take this from me I would die for my freedom, but I would not go around invading countries to ensure democracy will flourish. THis is erroneous. Stop sucking up to the govt. They dont give a crap about us.....

This is the greatest country on earth because people are actually aware of the bull crap involved with our government and the corruption of nearly all govts in the world. Freedom is mine and mine alone and no one grant me this or takes this away. No army can fight for it and no invading force can bestow it. It is always there, but it is up to each individual to have the balls to embrace the freedom without fear of death....

We should concentrate on our own country first. Now our government wants to sell them more nuclear power so later we can say they have weapons of mass destruction. The reason our government knows who has it is because they sell it to them.
