From time to time I ask questions to see if these young-earth creationists (a curious American phenomenom) have any new defences for their ridiculous idea that the universe is only 6000 years old, their answers are always amusing, but for blatant scientific ignorance I have to go with this 'answer' regarding the earth's age, it is truly astonishing:
Your 4.5 billion year myth can not be tested. It is speculation so far. No artifact can be dated past about 5,000 years with unquestionable results.
Its all speculation.
This person obviously has never read a single article in any scientific journal in his entire life, it's both sad and frightening that these people want to hijack the public school system and inject this poison into the minds of America's youth, where would our hopes for a brighter tomorrow be then?

There is no way to tell how old the earth is. It did undergo a complete re-creation (renovation) about 6k yr ago, and massive terrestrial flooding about 4k yr ago. That's why there is no artifact older than 5k yr. The flood that scoured the Utah, Idaho, and Washington areas show evidence of boulders the size of houses and cars rounded like river rock. This was bedrock basalt that was torn up by currents 60 -70 mph and 500-1000 feet deep. Bonneville salt flats and Salt Lake are the remnants of the flood.

I have seen worst answers than this one, some people are not so smart in some things but are more brilliant in other things.
