Both come recommended by Consumer reports. Tahoe recieved ratings of average or betterin all areas of trouble spots, while Yukon rated average or better in all but two catergories (Audio system and body hardwear), landing it an overall slightly lower than average rating. Tahoe also boasts better fuel economy getting 15/21 city/hwy, mpg while Yukon sees 13/19. Yukon will cost you somewhere in the 37-49 range, while Tahoe is closer to 33-46. Yukon has a larger engine, and greater cargo volume, however the Tahoe can carry bear more weight.Yukon has a greater towing capacity by a little over 1000lbs. than the Tahoe. Both rated slightly above average in owner satisfaction.

But Reliability for GMC is slightly better than Chevrolet, but neither is even 'above industry average' in this catagory,

I think you should look at an Expedition, roomier inside,much more reliable, longer wheelbase=smoother ride, can tow more weight, more standard seating, in fact more standard features (& less money}, more safety features.....

Really, in this class, your comparing the wrong ones.
