you can only take the 8 footers on
if you take the 6 footers on you have to check them
I usually bring my python and a rattlesnake
just to get the extra leg room when the people in front of me jump off the plane

Theoretically you could do it but there's a pretty good chance they will explode, if not due to air pressre then due to being thrown around during baggage handling
