I have this game, X-men children of the atom, for pc. It says on the case it's for DOS, or it can run on Windows 95. there's 8MB install and 16MB install. It says if you have 8MB install, must run from DOS without WiN in background (Whatever!) I used the Windows compatibility Wizard, and set it for the 16 bit color, Win 95, bla bla bla, and no combination of settings works!!!!!!

you will never get the game working win xp is not a dos system tho you can run windows in a dos window
Now window xp is a different dos system to the old windows 95/98 so there for the dos drivers are not the same
so what you could do is make a bootable floppy disk (dos or win98) and boot from that you would need a cd drive to boot with the system. easy if you know how, not so easy if you don't, but you could be talked through it
so think about this..... is the game worth spending a couple of hrs on to get it going?
if you think it is then get back to me

Aww,.. that's sweet!

Dos is part of / under Windows

So Dos is already on Windows.

Some times the Backwards compatiblity stuff doesn't work but it doesn't need to.

Why not do the 16MB install?

You can't run DOS programs in XP. They are not compatible.
