No, there would be no problem..even if the passport would be stamped...you can extend their passports later...You have to report for the appointment..If their passports are valid only for this month that would be a problem..
Dont know how long you be out of the country.. if this is short visit, they might come back and that is the time they can renew their passports..

No there should not be any.. What you can do though is apply for renewal of passport in Indian Embassy in foreign land. they might be able to transfer the stamp legally. but to be on safe side keep the expired passport safely.

Your passports should be valid for six months into the future. They may tell you to exten their passports before they make a decision about your visa.

I Think you should not have any problem in getting H4 visa but you must get an extension in passport and carry both passport with you while you go.

Get the passport validity extended (renewed) u.s. visa requires atleast six months validity.

as someone said here ...you must have at least 6 months left on your passport .........can you get a new passport ? you did not say where you are located now ?
