I have Norton2006 installed in my computer and am not sure if I still need to buy 2007 for myself since they dont differ much. Isnt it like a waste if I purchase a new one each year?

You don't have to buy each year. Just update your version and if it is really necessary to upgrade and think it is worth it and matches your specifications then buy it.

No you do not have to buy the newer version as long as they are supporting the older version for updates, it could last for many many years, at least five years for sure. But may be they will ask you to pay an annual subscription fee for updates of virus definitions each year.

Well, you'll probably have to upgrade when Norton stops giving updates for 2006 version. Because without those update, you may not be fully protected to the newest known viruses.

The AntiVirus usually needs to be renewed annually...you can do it online.
Any other Norton Utilities will work just fine until you decide to upgrade them. I'm still using 2003 on some of my computers with no problems.

Norton is not so good as once upon a time plus they cause system drag. I suggest u get free antivirus software which has very good ratings. I suggest AOL Active Virus Shield.
