Why does the Bible not speak of planets and dinosaurs. Could it be because the Bible is a fairy tail made by man and when it was written we did not have the technology to know that planets existed as well as the dinosaurs before us. The bible says God made the heaven and the earth it never speaks of other planets. Why.?

You are uninformed.
If you read the Bible, this probably would not be the case.
Since you don't, I will enlighten you.

Dinosaurs were not mentioned in the bible because God didn't see it necessary to mention them. Penguins, for example are also not mentioned anywhere in the Bible, however penguins inhibit the Earth to this day.

As far as your planetary question goes...

Genesis 1:16 says God created the stars. At the time this was written that would include the planets. This goes along with our ability to measure time.

Any other questions, wise guy?

Dear Raiden Kintaro,

First we have to understand that God's purpose in the Bible is to give us instructions as to how to live and how to have a relationship with Him. Could it be that God does not talk about other planets- because there is no life on other planets- and so it is not important to our souls to know how to relate to other planets?

The Bible does mention Leviathan and there is also a reference in Job which refers to a large creature (it may or may not be a dinosaur).

The Bible never claims to talk about every topic in the world- only what God wants us to know to know Him personally. Just because something is not mentioned in the Bible does not mean that God is not real and does not make the Bible a fairy tale- archaeology, history, support the accuracy of the Bible.

The Bible does not speak about other planets- because the Bible is concerned with how we can care for our souls and how we can know God and dinsoaurs and other planets don't really matter to that.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Actually, the Bible states that God created the heavenS (not just 'heaven') and the earth (Genesis 1:1). The word 'heavens' refers to all that surrounds the earth. Other planets were not spoken of because the Earth alone, of all these celestial bodies, was populated. God created man in His image on the earth ONLY, so there is no need to describe the planets.

Regarding your comment on dinosaurs, I assume that you are suggesting Darwin's Theory of Evolution. (Please note the use of the word 'Theory' NOT 'Theorem') Darwin's theory assumes a world that is several billion years old and that we humans, evolved from apes. The problems with this theory are numerous. Among the problems are: biochemistry, genetics, probability, astronomy, physics, paleontology and radiometric dating. I have not covered any of these in depth, as they require too much space to explain here. Instead, please look at: http://www.evanwiggs.com/articles/reasons.html This is a very well written expose of problems associated with Darwin's Theory.

NOTE: A "THEORY" is "An ASSUMPTION based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture." whereas a 'THEOREM' is "An idea that has been demonstrated as true or is assumed to be so demonstrable." (American Heritage Dictionary)

God's blessings on you through Jesus Christ our Saviour,

i can't believe you even said that.....do you read the bible at all? example......there are referances to the moon stars and planets throughout the bible. and the book of job refers to leviathons.....which one knows is a dinosaur. it also speaks of the other larger animals while man was on earth NOT before man. so what are you talking about? at least do research before you say things that aren't even close to true. just check it out. it does say that man will profess themselves to be wise but, became as fools... now that i think about it....also in the book of job....God asks job where were you when i created the earth, where were you when i created this and that. read the book of job. then you'll see what i mean. i don't mean to sound rude but, there is plenty of evidence in the bible that proves god made the planets and dinosaurs. do some research. i'll pray for you. and remember there is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.

In Genesis 1:1 it says that God created the heavens(not heaven) and the earth. We believe that what was meant by "the heavens" meant the universe. The Bible is not a fairy tale. We didn't have the technology to know about what was beyond our surroundings. We didn't even know that the earth wasn't flat until Columbus. We didn't know there were other planets out there until the days of Copernicus and Galileo.

We discover things as God allows us to discover the ways and means of discovery. That is what science is all about. There are cures for the common cold, for cancer, for all chronic diseases but we haven't discovered them yet.

Think outside the box, and you will begin to see the infinite possibilities that believing in God can bring you.

Good question!

My friend, The Bible did not talk about other planets in this solar system, proofs that the book was inspired by God who knows everything because He created them.
Other religions in the past like the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all believe that there are beings and gods in other planets such as Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter etc. Which nowadays we know to be wrong. But the Bible from the beginning made it very clear only this earth has inhabitants created by Him.
But the Bible mentioned the names of other stars, which no one had ever heard or seen before the invention of telescope by Galileo in the year 1610.
In the book of Job, which was written 2300 years before Galileo invented his first telescope, the Bible said:

(Job 38:31,32)

31 “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,
Or loose the belt of Orion?

32 Can you bring out Mazzaroth[a] in its season?
Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?

This is an amazing astronomical fact which puzzled the astronomers, because nobody knew until the invention of giant telescopes in the last 200 years that astronomers discovered the fact that the three stars constituting the "belt of Orion", are actually three stars, which are moving into three separate destinations, and in say 100,000 years from now, we won't be seeing them as tonight, in one straight line, but it will be scattered and form a triangle instead.
Second, the seven sisters, or Pleiades were not known as moving as a cluster until just recently, and yet the Bible 3000 years ago mentioned about it so clearly that they were bound by magnetic pulls or gravity with each other.
While ancient astronomers until the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus thought that the world is flat and is carried by the giant god Atlas, or Hercules, the Bible declared very firmly that all the celestial bodies, the stars, planets and satelites, hang upon nothing.

Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.

And about Dinosaurs, it is obvious that you haven't read this passage in the book of Job.

15 "Look at the behemoth, [a]
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.

16 What strength he has in his loins,
what power in the muscles of his belly!

17 His tail [b] sways like a cedar;
the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.

18 His bones are tubes of bronze,
his limbs like rods of iron.

19 He ranks first among the works of God,
yet his Maker can approach him with his sword.

(Job 40:15-19)

What if I show you that YOU ARE WRONG, and the Bible does mention dinosaurs; maybe you could be wrong about some of your other pre-suppositions about God, the Bible, Jesus etc.

The word dinosaur wasn't invented until the 1800's. The King James Bible was translated in 1611, so obviously it could not use the word dinosaur. But that doesn't mean that they are not mentioned. In 1611 they called them dragons. And dragons are mentioned all through the Bible.

Since you obviously haven't checked it out for yourself, but rather have just believed what somebody told you, you're operating on blind faith. And whoever told you these things was either ignorant or deliberately lying to you.

Job mentions very large dinosaur-like creatures and there are many mentions of heavenly bodies in the Bible. And by the way, this question gets asked 50 times a day. Try to think of a tough one.

you never read the bible, did you?
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,
and all the host of them.

What are the hosts? not only planets, but also their inhabitants.
so the Bible is actually ahead of science.
