I would like to buy a Christmas card in German for my friend that lives in Germany.

Danke

I just spent all summer through Europe and it wouldn't make sense to go back to Germany just to pick out and deliver a Christmas card.

I also speak a little German but I can't find any local shops that sell German specific goods. And my friends English isn't that good so I'd prefer to send a German card.

Where do you live? In the LA area in Torrance off of the 110
fwy south, there is an area called Alpine Village where there are lots of German shops, restaurants, and bookstores.
Maybe there is a similar area near you.
I also found a site which may be just what you are looking for. You can get German cards (Grusskarten) and even add your own words and voice.
To find this site, I searched Deutsche Grusskarten. There may be other sites.

Why do you want to buy a German Christmas card for a German friend?
He/she would probably appreciate an English card, since it comes from her/his English-speaking friend. It would be more personal.

Try german.about.com and linking at the bottom of the page to all the websites that sell German goods.
You could also go to yahoo.de and send an e-card in German fairly easily.
Also talk to the high schools in your area--the German teacher probably has some sources.
