I always brush my teeth AT LEAST twice a day, for as long as I can remember, and I have a cavity in almost every tooth. I noticed that my dad has great teeth- and my mom teeth are as bad as mine. Did I inherit my mom's 'teeth'
Thanks!

Yes; sometimes it is the teeth themselves that aren't great, and often it is the chemisty of the saliva that makes a difference. Some people have 'bad spit'---more full of bacteris, more acidic, etc. which can cause cavities.
I know of several people like you. They always seem to inherit the 'bad teeth', not the good ones. How unfair...

My grandma had bad teeth, my mom had bad teeth and I had really bad teeth all thru school. By the time I was starting high school I was already missing quite a few teeth and what I had left was literally rotting out of my head. It was gonna cost way more than we had to try to fix anything and lot were too far gone to fix anyway so I just had them all pulled out. Most people wouldn't think of no teeth at all as a good thing, but it's way better than a lot of bad teeth. (runs in the family I'm pretty sure.)

Bad teeth are not genetic. Cavities are caused by lactic acid, which is a metabolic byproduct of bacteria in your mouth. Brushing 2x a day is well and good, but do you floss or use a mouthwash? Flossing is just as important as brushing and is the only way to clean between your teeth (bristles don't do the trick there) and is the most prevalent location of dental caries.

Teeth are highly genetic.

yeah you can get bad teeth from your parents (the shape, color, strong or not).

you can also get it from certain medicines if you took when you were a baby too (it effects the enamel and development of teeth).
