They go to church on Sunday and fornicate and do all sorts of sinfull things every other day. Why do these people let church get in the way of their fun? They are not fooling anyone. It is better to be honest in sin.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with going to church. I am saying why go when you are not respecting any of the teachings?

Many people go to church each week like other folks go to the gym or get a spa treatment - they are doing something nice for themselve. They go where they can emerse themselves in their spirituality, surrounded by like minded others. They can listen, learn, meditate, sing, and socialize. That is fun for some people.

Peace!

I do not attend the typical church where you sit down and some moron who is probably paid to be there starts rambling about something he doesn't even believe in. My first few months of "believing" it hurted my heart to realize what you mentioned.... but I'm thankful for where I practice my belief... we all read together, share, enjoy the Lord, and testify on what we enjoyed, that way we feed each other spiritual food, and it is wonderful for spiritual growth....... when staying dedicated to meeting with the saints everyday and also praying at alone time, it truly does help keep you from the sins of the world..... the saints are my umbrella from the stormy weather of this sinful world we live in.

Dear Cordova,

First of all not everyone who goes to church lives the lifestyle that you describe from Monday to Saturday.

There are two main purposes for going to church. One is that it is a gathering of those who love the Lord and wish to honor Him together and people grow and are encouraged by that time.

It is also a time for those who don't know the Lord to have a chance to know the Lord. Jesus Himself said He did not come just to call the "perfect" but "sinners". And so even for those who fornicate during the week- thank goodness they go to church- think of how much more worse their lives would be without church.

Your point is well taken that there are hypocrites in the church and they shame and misrepresent the name of Christ. But everyone will give a personal account to their maker one day. As someone who loves and serves the church- my job is just to make sure that my church does its best to teach and live by God's standards (the Bible) to the best of our (and personally to the best of my ability).

Kindly,

Nickster

Why Go To Church?

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained
that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I've gone for 30
years now," he wrote, "and in that time I have heard something like
3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of
them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs
by giving sermons at all."

This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column,
much to the delight of the editor.
It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:

"I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked
some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire
menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this.. They all
nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife
had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.
Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be
spiritually dead today!" When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to
something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and
receives the impossible! Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!

Because they get the 'feeling' of atonement for their sins. People are adicted to warm fuzzy wuzzy feelings. I also believe people attend church because they feel guilty if they dont. This is one of the reasons I dont attend church is because I dont need to go somewhere to feel guilty for every action in my life and then to be told that if I walk to the front of the church and have some bloke who has just taken 10% of everyones money to lay hands on me that I will be ok and I will go to heaven and be pampered by angels. *paraphrased by me* I agree ~ Why not just walk up to the pastor and say "Look I am a bl**dy sinner mate" And according to you I will never stop sinning and I will always feel guilty coming here for the sins I have committed. So why dont you just lay hands on my and pray for the future sins in my life and we can be done with it hey! - Brainwashed people - you do not have to go to church to have a relationship with God. Stop feeling guilty and come back to earth.

All are welcome in church, especially the sinful as they have so much more to gain. At some point they should come to realize that while they can never be good enough to go to Heaven on their own behavior, their non Christian actions indicate that they aren't true believers and no one can get into Heaven unless they truly believe in Jesus with all their hearts.

...God's word says we are "not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but encourage one another, and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
...I go to church to worship with other believers, to be encouraged, to serve and love others in Christ, to be a good example to my wife and kids, and to be instructed in the Word of God - it is not a waste of time for me.
...Okay, so what are your sin problems? I guess you have some, too. God's word says you do. 1 John 1:8 says, "If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
...I don't know one solid Christian who would profess they are without sin problems.
...BTW, how is it that you are able to peer into the lives of others to see their sins and shortcomings, since only God is capable of that?

Those "People" will not be the ( Standard) that God will Judge you
By.You will Kneel and it will be One on One that Day.

This walk of Faith is not a Blame Game of justfiying Self by comparing Self with "Others. That is what the World says.
You say it is better to be :Honest in Sin,By definition are
you saying You Are your own God?Do enough "Good deeds
to out weigh the "Bad deeds,That will never please God.

I'm not religious, but I occasionally go to church when I want to step away from the world and be issolated. No one ever thinks to look for me there.

I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!
