The act of mating can induce ovulation. Best to get her spayed and not risk it.

KillerSaint clearly doesn't know Felines. They do not drop eggs and then go into heat and get pregnant. They go into Heat when their eggs are annoying them,... the male rapes them which knocks the egg down [only zero to two eggs during one rapeing,.. it is rarely truely consential,.. the agony of Heat wears females out until they hold still and can't move from time to time]. Otherwise there is no telling what is going on,.. Felines have alot of eggs ready at once,.. so after some die or cause less effect it is posible for them to act better because they feel better without them being completely out of heat or haveing their eggs completely out of their body.

If you do not want her to have Kittens and if you would like to increase her life span by more then ten,.. you will want to have her spayed. There are alot of myths,.. she doesn't have to have kittens before she is fixed/spayed and it is actually better for her to be fixed before she can go into heat the first time because of some health issues in Domestic Cats with the female reproductive system.

Like some people said if she was outside at all or exposed to males at all (even siblings or other relatives) she could be or could get pregnant. Give her a week until she is likely safe from being inpregnated.

Added: For future kittens/cats, try to get them fixed at exactly 5 months. Males some times start to spray between 6-8 months,.. other times 8+ months,... but once they start they usually won't stop after being neutered/fixed. Some females die before/by 2 years from problems with their reproductive organs,.. without sex,.. but of course that increases the odds. Cats that are not fixed live shorter lives,.. many reasons,.. also living outdoors or being half indoor half outdoor cat reduce life span greatly... I would say the cars are the worst predator Cats face out doors XD

Now you might feel like a sure fire way to tell is by going to the Vet in a couple weeks,.. but some times some Cats don't have signs they are pregnant until some time during the Last Two Weeks of Pregnancy. Cats are pregnant for about 2 months... (some times less because of a breed,.. easily more because of random variables.).

If she was not mated during her first heat, she will not be pregnant. If she is not in heat, sure she'll not get pregnant. But very soon she will be in heat again, in two weeks after the first heat. So it would be better to have her spayed so you will not have to worry about pregnancy.

No, most animals, including humans, cannot get pregnant when the egg is not ready to drop. Cats have a total of 8 days to concieve, but you won't know until they start getting fat. *Most of the time*
