Windows Live One Care is basically an anti virus software by Microsoft which includes Windows Defender as anti-spy ware.

You can get Windows Defender for free from internet. But the whole package of Live One care costs $30 or so.

You can buy the anti virus. So far people said it's good. But as the Windows defender is free, you should get it right now:

Windows Defender is a spyware protection program provided by Microsoft for free. And having this program installed is good.

Windows Live Care includes Virus protection of some sort which I believe you have to pay for this you do not need. You can use the free side of One Care in sources below

Windows Defender is only anti spyware whereas Windows Live OneCare is an all round protection with registry clean ups and tune-ups. WD is free but you have to buy WLOC but there is a free 90 day trial offer. I have WD but I make use of the WLOC online free scanning about once or twice a month and find it very effective. When my anti virus program license expires I would consider buying WLOC.
