I happen to think a man can go through life and never sin. Do people just use human weakness as an excuse? Do they think they can trick God?

Perhaps we have all sinned, but that does not mean that we, of sound body and mind, can't make a committment this day to sin no more.

Why do so many of you sell yourselves short? You are capable of great things yet you hang your head low and say there is no hope. Do you really think you are going to get into heaven with that defeatist attitude?

It's a belief held only by sinners. It's a coping mechanism: if they believe everyone is as evil as them, they don't feel so bad about themselves. Pedophiles are the same, many of them also believe it's something we all do.
Did Jesus ever tell one sinner that he was going to forgive him? Nay, verily he did not. What did he tell sinners? "Go and sin no more".
What does the bible say will happen to sinners? They will be judged and cast into the lake of fire.

I personally don't think everyone uses human weakness as an excuse for sin. I just think that given the course of our life it is most likely that we will sin at least once. Even if it is something tiny, it is still a sin. I do not think most people just wake up and say "hey I'm gonna sin today, but it is ok God will forgive me." I think most people committ a sin and then ask for forgiveness for it later. At least the people who believe in sins and what not. I do not think it is possible to wake up one day and say you are never going to do anything wrong ever again in your life. And I wouldn't advise saying that either, because it is saying you are perfect and if you slip up people will call you a hypocrite.

Jesus never sinned. People just say its inevitable because they don't want to make a commitment not to. And according to the bible it's not possible for a man not to sin, Jesus was the only one without sin because no matter how committed we are to do other wise eventually everyone will willingly give in to it. Most of the time sin is just more easy or more fun so people say they can't help but do it. As an excuse.

First you have to define sin. Sin according to the bible is trangression of the law, more directly the moral law the ten commandments. We have all broken at least one of these and more than likely all either by act or in mind(to look upon a woman with lust in your heart is adultery matt5:27). The bible says if we say we have no, sin we make God a liar and the truth is not in us. We were born in sin and shaped in iniquity.

It's the age old question of:
Is man born evil, or does the environment make man evil?
Try reading up on Thomas Hobbes and John Locke
I suppose someone can decide to not ever do anything that would be sinful again.

It may be possible for humans to live a life without sin, but there aren't very many of them.

Nobody can go through life without sin. You can just do your best and try to do better every day. Be honest with yourself, you are already sinning by lying to yourself. Not to mention all of us!

because "sin" is an idea invented by human beings and we are all human beings
there is no such thing as god-ordained "sin"; there are only human-defined morals, which evolved over millennia
I would challenge you to prove otherwise; giving my answer a thumbs down may make you feel good, but it doesn't prove you're right
Please consider this: I AM NOT A SINNER. AND I AM NOT GOING TO HELL JUST BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE IN YOUR MONSTROSITY OF A GOD.
Now, that statement may offend you. But do I deserve to spend *an eternity* in hell because of it? Have you people even *considered* what "an eternity* means?
Multiply a trillion years times a trillion years. OK? An eternity hasn't even begun at that point.
Any "god" who would consign a person to "hell" for an eternity is a monster, not unlike Hitler. I guess worse actually.
You should despise that God, not worship him or worry about sinning against him.
Luckily, he doesn't exist.
WAKE UP, PEOPLE.
And learn to be human.

My question is, why do so many accept sin as a valid concept? I don't. If sin is an irrelevancy, the question of its inevitability or not becomes irrelevant also.

you are so right, but only GOD is perfect, and sin is " inevitable" as a consequense of free will.
I find it an obnoxious human trait when people excuse their sins under the umbrella of imperfection.
I celebrate the efforts of all those who strive to attain such a state of purity, because I believe we will all be judged by how much we invest in Gods plan to guide us to glory
