Why would you choose to save your pet?
Area humans or pets superior or inferior based simply on species? Would you favor a monkey over a dog??

I'd save my pet. Screw all you people who think animals don't have souls or who think human lives are more important.

Is this one of those questions generated by a random word producing program?
I'd hazard that you already know that the vast majority of people would opt to render aid to another human being over an animal (pet or not).
Not sure that there's a general hierarchy for animals (monkey, dog, etc). And pretty sure that insects, fish, reptiles, etc aren't going to mix in there either.

I would get the dog out and then get a long pole or something and get the person out. If I'm in the water and the person is drowning the person will try grabbing onto me and try climbing me to get up out of the water to breath causing me to be forced down under the water and drowned myself.

Well I would probably save my cat if she was drowning. I have a connection with her and she is practically a human anyways. I think that emotional ties are more important. I don't think I could live very easy either way though. It would suck if I let my pet drown, it would suck if I let a human drown.

i think humans are more important than animals it's just the way life is. the whole point of killing them to eat them is for our survival. so maybe it's just the way we are raised.
i would save a dog over a monkey because i like dogs more. it would depend on what i like more.

I have to go with the pet, BUT in my defense I would attempt to help the stranger and yell for help.
As far as monkeys and dogs go, dogs rule in my world!

It would be rather selfish to save the pet (I have 4 pets). The pets death would only effect me, whereas the persons death would effect his whole family and then of course I would feel guilty and my whole family would be ashamed of me...So, The person no contest.

i would save the human but if it was a monkey and a dog i would definately save the dog. dogs are sweeter and waaay less annoying and will probably be more grateful.
