I work at a chinese buffet, and I get to eat every day for free. Even when I eat breakfast, snack while working, I still wanna eat the food when my shift is over. No matter how many times I tell myself I'm not going to eat, I can't seem to give it up. It's put about 10 pounds on me since. Any tips on how I can give it up without quitting the job?

The problem is the chemistry and the carbs. When you eat the simple carbs, like white rice..heck, just about anything white, it floods your system with insulin. Insulin is also the huger hormone. So your body is told by the extra insulin floating around that you are hungry. Like most people, you eat when you are hungry.
That is compounded by the fact that the simple carbs, again the white stuff, are digested so quickly. If you eat complex carbs, say a salad, it will fill you up longer and you will eat less.
It's hard working in a place that has such evil stuff there, the noodles, the rice, the cookies, even the corn starch used as a thinkener but it is possible to make healthier, more filling choices,
Skip the rice, skip the teryaki, eat the cabbages, eat the less cooked veggies. Bring in a salad, or get them to stir fry you some veggies and meat without a 'sauce'. It tastes better that way anyway IMHO.
Also, the insulin makes you crave things. One of the things DR.s do for folks that are insulin resistant (they have too much insulin in their system because it is not working properly) is prescribe Metformin because it STOPS the cravings for sugars and carbs brought on by too much insulin.
When I absolutely have to have chinese...I make my own. Same veggies, same meats, but instead of making the sauce I sprinkle on soy sauce and ginger. It tastes great and takes away most of the bad carbs.
Try eating low Glycemic Index foods, follow the link below for some info on the GI stuff.
Good luck, HTH

Well dont quit your job. Instead of eating the Chinese, try to carry around with you an apple of some peanut butter crackers as a snack and a bottle of water. This is a good way to have a light snack to help fight off the craving for the Chinese. Another thing is Yogurt, or the Go-gurts, they are very handly and can be put in your pocket and when you get hungry just eat that and drink water.

you dont need to quit your job, it's fairly normal for you to crave food especially chinese buffet..... i heart chinese food- dimsum... all the delicacies... alrite, back to your question. all you need to practice is moderation- still enjoy the food but not gorging down tons of them even when you're already full. cravings are hard to resist but once you can control them, you'll be fine. have a glass of water when you feel like snacking(when you're NOT actually hungry), let it pass and if you still feel like eating, you probably ARE hungry, have some and let it pass.
maybe you can eat something filling before heading to work, so you wont feel like eating at the restaurant. hope these advices help. goodluck!

Bring your own food. If you are going to over eat try to over eat on something healthy. Rice expands and makes you feel full when your not and at the same time burns,.. so if you can tolerate alot of rice,.. try turning to that when you really are desperate,.. but not fried. In Asia some times people mix what little other food they have into Rice. ... I forget what else I was going to say. Hopefully you'll get some help from what I did get out because my mind went blank.

Get some meal replacement bars (not energy bars) and eat them before your shift or during breaks. You'll take the edge off your hunger and know you'll be eating a balanced diet that is quick and easy to stay on.
